Jordan Monsour
General Counsel
Mr. Monsour joined Dedeaux Properties as in house General Counsel in September 2023. Jordan has more than 23 years of experience in commercial real estate/financing transactions. As General Counsel, Mr. Monsour has a broad range of responsibilities and leads the day-to-day legalities of our real estate investment, acquisition, development, and management activities. Before joining Dedeaux Properties in 2023, Jordan was a law partner at the firm of Butler Snow LLP for over 12 years, where he practiced in the Real Estate Development and Finance group, as well as the Tax Credit and Incentives group. In his private practice, he regularly served as counsel to developers, borrowers, investors, lenders, and operators in connection with the development, structuring, financing, and operation of complex real estate transactions throughout the United States. He has closed over $1 billion in real estate financings utilizing various federal, state, and local tax incentives and financing programs. Before joining Butler Snow in 2011, Jordan spent over six years at the law firm of Elkins, PLC; he served as general counsel to Healtheon, Inc., and he worked as an associate attorney at the law firm of Jones Walker. Over the course of his career, he has made several publications and presentations on the topics of financing the real estate transaction, investment and financing tools for real estate developers, the fundamentals of redevelopment, the utilization of tax credits, subsidies, and tax increment financing, real estate leasing, and a range of topics regarding business entities, including, choice of entity, formation, taxation and drafting of the entity agreements. Jordan has a B.A. in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University (1997) and a J.D. from Paul M Hebert Law School, Louisiana State University (2000).
